Wrath Of The Titans (2012)

Perseus (Sam Worthington) tak bisa mengingkari takdirnya sebagai putra Zeus (Liam Neeson). Meski ia sudah berusaha keras untuk hidup normal sebagai manusia biasa, takdir selalu membawanya kembali ke alam para dewa. Kali ini tugas Perseus sangat berat. Ia tak hanya harus menyelamatkan umat manusia namun juga menyelamatkan para dewa yang bersemayam di Olympus.

Semuanya berawal ketika Kronos, ayah dari Zeus, Hades (Ralph Fiennes), dan Poseidon (Danny Huston) berhasil meloloskan diri dari penjara di Tartarus. Kini Kronos memimpin seluruh pasukan Titans untuk mengambil alih kekuasaan yang selama ini dipegang oleh para dewa di Olympus. Kekuatan para Titans memang tak terbayangkan dan yang lebih mengerikan lagi, ada penghianat di Olympus.

Hades dan Ares (Édgar Ramírez) memilih berpihak pada Kronos yang artinya Zeus tak punya peluang untuk selamat. Perseus tak mungkin diam berpangku tangan. Sekali lagi ia harus turun tangan. Dengan bantuan Andromeda (Rosamund Pike), Agenor (Toby Kebbell), danHephaestus (Bill Nighy), Perseus pun berangkat menuju dunia kegelapan untuk menyelamatkan Zeus dan menyelamatkan seluruh umat manusia.

The Lorax (2012)

Semua yang ada di Thneed-Ville memang artifisial. Bukan hanya rumah dan jalan, bahkan sampai pohon pun tak ada yang benar-benar asli. Kota ini dibatasi tembok tinggi dan tak seorang pun penghuninya boleh melewati tembok ini. Semuanya sudah tersedia dan tak ada gunanya keluar dari batas kota. Semua orang patuh, kecuali Ted (Zac Efron). Ted harus melewati batas kota untuk mencari apa yang jadi impian Audrey (Taylor Swift).

Audrey ingin melihat pohon yang sesungguhnya, bukan sekedar replika buatan manusia. Kalau itu yang diinginkan Audrey, Ted akan mencarinya. Apa pun akan ia lakukan untuk mendapatkan perhatian gadis yang jadi pujaan hatinya ini. Tentu saja ini bukan perkara gampang tapi tekad Ted sudah bulat. Ia harus mencari tahu apa yang sebenarnya terjadi pada pohon-pohon yang dulu tumbuh bebas di muka bumi.

Perjalanan panjang mempertemukan Ted dengan Once-ler (Ed Helms). Once-ler memang bukan pribadi yang ramah. Ia sengaja mengasingkan diri dari keramaian. Dari Once-ler pula Ted mengenal nama The Lorax (Danny DeVito) yang konon bertekad melindungi alam ini dari kerusakan. Sayang usaha The Lorax gagal. Semua pohon kini sudah musnah. Satu-satunya harapan yang tersisa adalah bila Ted berhasil menemukan benih pohon dan ini bukan sesuatu yang gampang.

Film animasi berbasis 3D buatan Illumination Entertainment ini dibuat berdasarkan buku cerita anak-anak karya Dr. Seuss. Selain kisahnya yang penuh pesan moral, film ini juga didukung banyak nama besar sebagai pengisi suaranya. Chris Renaud – sang sutradara – berhasil meyakinkan Danny DeVito, Zac Efron, Taylor Swift, Ed Helms, dan Betty White untuk ikut mengisi suara karakter animasi dalam film ini.

Coriolanus (2011)

Hanya ada dendam di hati Coriolanus (Ralph Fiennes). Bagaimana tidak, ia telah berjuang mati-matian demi negerinya namun kini orang-orang berusaha menyingkirkannya dari negeri yang telah ia bela. Coriolanus harus membalas dendam. Ia tak peduli lagi bagaimana caranya, selama dendam kesumat di dalam dadanya terbalaskan. Coriolanus rela mengemis bantuan pada musuh besarnya untuk melampiaskan amarahnya.

Medan pertempuran mengharumkan nama Coriolanus, sang jenderal perkasa. Namanya dielu-elukan sebagai pahlawan. Sayang, ambisi Coriolanus membuatnya jadi berseberangan dengan rakyat. Di medan peperangan Coriolanus boleh tak terkalahkan namun di kancah politik, ia tak bisa berbuat semaunya. Kini semua orang berada di pihak lawan, bahkan Volumnia (Vanessa Redgrave), ibunya pun memilih berseberangan dengan Coriolanus.

Sang pahlawan harus diasingkan. Ia tak boleh lagi menginjak tanah kelahirannya. Coriolanus kecewa. Ia tak menyangka rakyat bakal menyingkirkannya dari tanah kelahirannya. Tanpa pasukan, Coriolanus tak punya kekuatan apa-apa tapi itu bukan berarti sang jenderal sudah tak punya daya. Masih ada Tullus Aufidius (Gerard Butler) dan pasukannya. Coriolanus rela bersekutu dengan musuh besarnya selama dendam itu terbalaskan.

Buat pecinta karya Shakespeare, judul film ini pasti sudah tak asing. Coriolanus memang diadaptasi dari kisah klasik karya William Shakespeare meski Ralph Fiennes memilih menggunakan seting modern untuk mengangkat kisah tragis ini ke layar lebar.
